Description
Beechwood is a mid-19th century building located on Bryan Road in Edgerton. It is constructed of ashlar and features a hipped slate roof. The building has two storeys and is adorned with fluted stone brackets supporting a moulded eaves cornice, along with a blocking course. The first floor has a continuous sill, and there are angle pilasters at the corners.
The facade includes five ranges of sash windows, each with moulded and shouldered surrounds, and moulded cornices on the ground floor. An Ionic porch enhances the entrance, featuring sculpted festoons of fruit hanging from the capitals. The porch also has an entablature with a pulvinated frieze, a dentilled cornice, and a blocking course. The entrance is marked by a panelled door topped with a semi-circular fanlight, which is framed by moulded voussoirs, moulded imposts, and a vermiculated keystone. Additionally, there are cast iron railings with a double-curved profile surrounding the porch.
