Description

The gatepiers to Number 1, located on Halifax Road in Edgerton, date from the mid-19th century and are constructed of ashlar stone. They are very elaborate in design, featuring moulded plinths and caps that are crenellated. The gatepiers are topped with cast iron finials that are decorated with mythological beasts and are surmounted by hollow globes and crowns.
