Description
Bryancliffe is a mid-19th century house located on Hungerford Road. It is constructed from hammer-dressed stone with ashlar dressings and features a hipped slate roof. The building has two storeys and is adorned with a moulded modillioned eaves cornice and a blocking course. The first floor has a continuous sill, and the corners of the building are accentuated with raised quoins.
The facade includes five ranges of sash windows set in moulded surrounds, with the ground floor windows featuring segmental dentilled pediments. The central range slightly projects forward, and the first floor window above it has a shouldered design. A porch supported by Ionic columns showcases sculpted swags of fruit hanging from the capitals, along with a full entablature and blocking course. The entrance door consists of three moulded panels, one of which has an engraved and painted glass scene, and is topped with a semi-circular fanlight, moulded imposts, voussoirs, and a vermiculated keystone.
The garden front displays three ranges, with the central section being a canted bay, featuring Tuscan piers and entablatures on both floors, along with sculpted panels between the storeys.
