Description
Westroyd Farmhouse is a fine detached house dating from the 17th century. It is constructed of deeply coursed stone and features a stone slate roof with chamfered gable copings on the right side. The building has two storeys and includes a gabled cross wing on the left, which has a 5-light double chamfered window with a throated hood mould on each floor. A large stone buttress is located at the centre of the house. There is a prominent 12-light double chamfered mullioned and transomed window with a throated hood mould, along with a 5-light window above it. The entrance is situated to the right and has chamfered reveals and a triangular lintel. Above the entrance is a datestone, possibly reset, marked R.W. 1663. The rear of the house features an outshut. The interior has not been inspected.
