Description

The bridge at Old Bank, built between 1794 and 1798, is part of the Huddersfield Narrow Canal and is attributed to engineer Benjamin Outram. It features a single span stone arched design. A square stone string course serves as the base for the stone parapet, which has rounded ashlar copings. On the north side, the east parapet ends with a rounded buttress that also has rounded coping. There are mounting blocks located at the south end of the west parapet. The bridge was partially blocked, as the canal has been culverted in this area, and it underwent resetting in 1981 and 1982.
