Description
Thurstonland Methodist Chapel is a simple gabled chapel built in 1836, as indicated by the date on the building. It is constructed from hammer-dressed stone, with some parts rendered, and features a stone slate roof with gable copings. The chapel has two storeys and a basement at the rear.
On the south-west elevation, there are three bays, with a central door that has a segmental pediment above it. The windows include both sash and casement styles. Above the first-floor windows, there are two string courses, and a central tablet displays the inscription: "WESLEYAN CHAPEL MDCCCXXXVI." At the apex of the gable, there is an elliptical recess.
The north-east elevation features two sash windows on the first floor, while the ground floor has two slender lights with round arches and glazing bars. The basement includes three casement windows.
