Description
Sun End Farmhouse, which includes a barn, is an early 19th-century building located in South Crosland. The farmhouse is constructed from hammer-dressed stone and features a pitched stone slate roof. It stands two stories high and has coped gable ends with moulded kneelers, as well as a continuous sill on the first floor. The original three-light stone mullioned windows have been replaced with modern windows, although one three-light stone mullioned window remains on the south end wall, with two of its lights blocked.
The barn, dating from the 17th or 18th century at the west end, has been rebuilt, with the east end added in the 19th century. It features a coped gable end with moulded kneelers at the west end and round-headed barn doors on the north side. There are two outshuts to the north and one to the south, all with lean-to roofs. Inside the barn, various timbers from its earlier aisled structure can be found, including one of the posts and part of the aisle plate incorporated into a later partition wall.
