Description

The National School, built in 1835, is located on Church Lane in South Crosland. This single-storey building features a U-shaped plan and is constructed from hammer-dressed stone with a pitched tile roof and coped gable ends. It has lancet windows that are either surrounded by ashlar or have rock-faced voussoirs. A low wall connects the two wings of the building and is topped with cast iron railings that include some ornamental finials.
