Description
Carr Farmhouse is a former pair of dwellings with an adjoining barn, dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of hammer-dressed stone, featuring a painted front elevation and a stone slate roof. The house and barn have gable copings supported by moulded kneelers, with two ashlar stacks. The building is two storeys high.
The house has two central doorways, one of which is blocked. On each side of the doorways, there is a three-light stone mullioned window, although both mullions have been removed. The first floor has a central two-light window flanked by two three-light windows. The rear elevation has various openings on the ground floor, some of which have been altered. On the first floor, there is a six-light stone mullioned window, with two lights blocked and two mullions removed. Additionally, there is a central loading door that is partially blocked and a five-light stone mullioned window with three lights blocked.
The barn's north-east elevation features a large doorway with a segmental arch, along with a smaller doorway.
