Description
22 and 22A Chapel Street are a pair of cottages built in the early to mid 19th century. They are constructed from hammer-dressed stone and feature a pitched stone slate roof with coped gables, some of which are covered in bitumen. The cottages are two storeys high.
On the southwest elevation, the ground floor has two doorways that are near the center, each with a stone surround and a shared central divide. There is one four-light stone mullioned window with a double lintel and one five-light stone mullioned window, also with a double lintel. On the first floor, there is a prominent 15-light stone mullioned window with a continuous sill, although two of the lights are blocked, resulting in one eight-light and one five-light window. Each gable has a lean-to extension.
