Description
Nos 4 and 5 Clough Lee is a symmetrical pair of late 18th-century houses that form part of a row. They are constructed from hammer-dressed stone and feature quoins. The pitched stone slate roof has a large central stack with tabling. The buildings are three storeys high.
On the south elevation, the ground floor has two recessed 6-light stone mullioned windows with a King mullion, where the jambs do not meet the lintel. The first floor has two 4-light stone mullioned windows, similar to those below, along with one later window that has a stone surround.
The north elevation features two central doorways with deep lintels and quoins marked by mason's marks. Above the doorways is a plaque with the initials J P S P and the date 1782. The first floor has one recessed 2-light stone mullioned window and one later single light window with a stone surround. On either side, there are two-storey lean-to extensions with catslide roofs.
