Description

No. 40 New Street is an early 20th-century building constructed of ashlar. It is one storey tall but matches the full height of the adjacent houses. The building features a dentilled eaves cornice and a parapet. The central round-arched window has moulded voussoirs, keystones, and moulded imposts. On either side of the central window, there is a window and a door, both in moulded surrounds, with cornices above supported by moulded consoles. The entrance includes a panelled door with a fanlight and an ornamental transom that is marked "Bank" in relief.
