Description

These are a pair of gate piers dating from the mid-19th century, located on Thornhill Road in Edgerton. They are constructed of ashlar stone. The piers have square bases and octagonal tops, each topped with a moulded cornice and a pyramidal cap. The original timber gates are still in situ; they feature cross-bracing in the lower section and a cusped upper section, incorporating chamfered studs.
