Description

Buckden Mount is a mid-19th century building located on Thornhill Road in Edgerton. It is constructed from hammer-dressed stone with ashlar dressings and features shallow pitched slate roofs that have deeply overhanging eaves supported by cast iron brackets with fretwork valences. The building has two storeys and attics, with continuous moulded and plain sill bands, as well as string courses and some moulded impost bands. Its plan is picturesque and somewhat complex, incorporating some rusticated voussoirs. The windows are sash types, some with moulded surrounds, one featuring a segmental pediment, while others have plain ashlar surrounds with hoodmoulds.
