Description

The barn and farm buildings at Headfield Farm, located to the north-west of the farmhouse, date from around 1753. The structure is built from deeply coursed stone and features quoins. It has a stone slate roof with chamfered gable copings on cut kneelers, topped with a finial at the apex. The main elevation includes some later brickwork. There is a segmental-headed cart entry that is partly obscured by a late 18th century or early 19th century addition on the right, which now has a mono-pitch roof. On the left, there is a late 19th century stone addition with a pitched roof that has three arched entrances. A re-used datestone on the front reads 'T W 1753', and another datestone, also re-used as a quoin on the gable end, reads '1753'. At the rear of the barn, there is another segmental-headed cart entry that is partly blocked. The gable end features a later central window, which is now blocked, and has a deep triangular lintel.
