Description
This is a canal bridge over the Calder and Hebble Navigation, known as the Dewsbury Cut, built in 1878. It features dressed stone pins and abutments, with wrought iron beams that are dated. The bridge has a flat span and is adorned with wrought iron railings designed in Gothic arcading, arranged in two tiers. The stone sides include a string course and rounded copings on the parapets, which end in round piers. On the east bank, there is a round-arched brick vaulted passage for the towpath, showcasing cut voussoirs.
