Description
Nos 40 to 48 on Wakefield Road are early 19th-century buildings constructed from hammer-dressed stone, with No 40 being rendered. They feature a pitched stone slate roof and stand two storeys tall. The buildings have a moulded eaves cornice and a blocking course, with a continuous sill on the first floor. There are six sash windows with glazing bars on the first floor. The ground floor of Nos 42 to 48 has a moulded cornice. No 42 includes a door with an oblong fanlight and glazing bars, while there is a passage entrance with a semi-circular fanlight and moulded imposts. No 48 has a contemporary shopfront supported by four Tuscan pilasters.
