Nos 36, 38 and 40 and Barn to 36 (Wood Royd)

Farm terrace. Late C18 with alterations and addition. Hammer dressed stone. Quoins. Stone slate roof with gable copings on carved kneelers to barn. Two storeys. South elevation: No 36 has Cl9 gabled wing with one 3-light stone mullioned window and entrance to ground floor, and one 4-light window to first floor. In gable apex is re-set 2-light chamfered stone mullioned window with round false arch over all with very small leaded panes. Nos 38 and 40, to left, have mainly 2-light stone mullioned windows, with some Cl9 windows. Two entrances probably C19. Barn: (turned roof). Outshuts to left and right of central doorway. North side of barn has large doorway with segmental arch. Ventilation slits. North elevation (rear) of houses: No 36: mid C19 openings. No 38: one original 4-light window with 2 mullions removed, and one C19 five-light window. No 40: one 3-light and one 2-light stone mullioned window. East gable to No 40 has one 3-light stone mullioned window to first floor.
