Description

Nos 74 and 76 Woodhead Road are two mid-19th century houses. The west front is ashlar, while the roof is covered with stone slates. A moulded eaves cornice with a blocking course runs along the top of the west elevation, and there are two ashlar chimney stacks, along with decorative stone brackets on the east side. The west elevation features a central doorway with a fanlight and round engaged columns with Ionic capitals, accompanied by an architrave frieze and cornice with a blocking course. There are slender single sash windows to each side of the doorway, with ashlar panels beneath. Above, three single sashes are set within raised sills. The east elevation has a slender staircase window with a round arch containing a single light on each side. The ground floor of the east elevation features a central door flanked by large two-light windows.
