Description
Hammond's Yard is an early 19th-century irregular cluster of coursed rubble buildings located along the east side of Hammond's Yard. Number 1 is a two-storey building featuring a range of sash windows with glazing bars, a door with four moulded panels, and a very tall red brick chimney stack. Number 2 is a single-storey structure with one sash window that also has glazing bars. Number 3 is two storeys high, showcasing contemporary industrial windows with glazing bars and a door with six fielded panels leading to a first-floor balcony, which is accessed by wooden steps. Number 4 is another single-storey building with a sash window featuring glazing bars. The east side of the courtyard is bordered by a wall that ramps upwards towards Number 3. The area is also characterized by contemporary stone setts and cobbles along the east side and beneath the arch.
