Description

Nos 40 and 42 on King Street are early 19th-century buildings constructed from hammer-dressed stone, featuring a pitched stone slate roof and three storeys. The buildings have stone brackets supporting the gutters and five ranges of sash windows. There is a trabeated arch leading to Goldthorpe's Yard, which has stone flags underneath. The rear of the buildings includes two ranges of bipartite stone mullioned sash windows. A modern shop is located on the ground floor.
