Description
Holmroyd Nook is a farmhouse that is part of a farm group, dating from the mid to late 18th century, with an early 19th-century addition to the northwest. The building is constructed from deeply coursed millstone grit and features quoins on the earlier part. It has a twin pitched stone slate roof, with moulded kneelers and moulded stone brackets. The farmhouse is two storeys high.
On the southeast elevation, there are two bays with a central doorway that has a deep lintel. The left bay contains a 5-light stone mullioned window on the ground floor, although one light is blocked, and a 6-light stone mullioned window on the first floor, also with one light blocked. The right bay has a 4-light stone mullioned window on each floor.
The northwest elevation, which is from the early 19th century, features a ground floor with a 4-light stone mullioned window that has a king mullion, along with a doorway and an adjoining 2-light window. The first floor has three 2-light windows, with the mullion removed. The northeast gable of the later addition has one 3-light window.
