This is an Italian-style well head located within the grounds of Meltham Hall. It is likely to date from before the Renaissance period. The well head is constructed from marble and features a tapering cylindrical form set upon a round, flat base. The base is decorated with four shields and four rosettes, flanked by crockets that support a rim featuring a band with nail-head decoration. The structure is partially damaged and has undergone repairs.
