Description

Shaw Carr Wood Bridge, part of the Huddersfield Narrow Canal, was built between 1794 and 1798, likely designed by engineer Benjamin Outram. The bridge is constructed from hammer-dressed stone and features a single span arched design. A string course serves as the base for the parapets, which have rounded copings. The top of the bridge is setted, and there is a towpath underneath with corbelling at the corners. An overflow is located to the north.
