Description

These cottages, now two separate dwellings, date to the early 17th century. They are constructed of hammer-dressed stone with a stone slate roof, and the walls are rendered. Originally a two-room plan, the house also features a single-storey aisle at the rear. A gable entrance is located at the point where the house and aisle join. The two-storey front displays double-chamfered mullioned windows, including windows of 2, 4, and 3 lights, though some mullions have been removed. The first-floor windows have been altered. An external chimney stack is visible on the right-hand gable. Inside, timber posts rise to an arcade-plate supported by braces and a king-post truss with single struts. There is evidence of a surviving bressumer beam and a firehood in the original housebody.
