Description

Nos 10, 11, and 12 High Street is an industrial building and cottage, now combined into one house, dating from the mid-18th century, with a cottage added and alterations made in the early to mid-19th century. The structure is built of coursed squared stone with a stone slate roof and has two storeys with a basement, featuring two bays and a cottage to the rear left. The openings have plain stone surrounds, and the windows are fitted with flat-faced mullions.

On the east (river) front, there are large quoins at both the ground and first floors. The ground floor has two 4-light windows, while the first floor has two 3-light windows, and there is a ridge stack added around 1980. The rear features a left bay with a segmental-arched barn door that has 1980 glazing, along with tiestones, imposts, and voussoirs. Above this door is a tall 2-light window with a sunk panel beneath. The cottage projects on the right side, with its left return featuring a 2-light basement window. The ground floor has a door on the left and two 2-light windows, all situated under steps that lead up to a door on the first floor.

On the left return, the main range includes a 3-light window with a 2-light and a 1-light window above. The cottage has a 2-light window to the left of a 1980 door, along with two 2-light windows on the ground floor and a 2-light and a 3-light window on the first floor, with the mullions having been renewed.
