Description
Bank House is a traditional stone house dating from the 17th century and earlier, located on Bank House Lane in Salter Hebble. The front of the building has been painted, and the roof is slated. The structure features a single-storey central section with two-storey cross wings that are gabled to the south. The northern wing is of later construction and sits at a lower level.
The central section includes a large five-light mullioned and transomed window, along with a smaller opening that has altered glazing above an arched doorway. Both of these openings are adorned with label mouldings. The south wing contains two altered mullioned windows and a later doorway, while the north wing features a pair of mullioned windows on each storey and a later entrance. There are also outbuildings associated with the property.
The interior of the central section, which was not inhabited at the time of revision, showcases interesting heavy timber framing and a coved canopy at the upper end.
