Description
Woodhouse is a row of three cottages that now form one dwelling, originally built in the mid-18th century with additional cottages added to either end in the early 19th century. The structure features watershot masonry and a stone slate roof, standing two storeys high. The central cottage has quoins, a 19th-century doorway with monolithic jambs, and chamfered mullioned windows that have been converted to sash windows. The first floor includes a 5-light window and two 2-light windows, although most of the original mullions have been removed.
The left-hand added cottage also has quoins and features a 2-light flat-faced mullioned window with a 3-light window above. It includes a doorway with monolithic jambs. The right-hand added cottage has had its doorway reduced to a window and features a 3-light flat-faced mullioned window with a similar window above, retaining original fixed lights on either side of the central sash, which is now a casement. At both ends of the row, there are outshuts. The roof has three stacks along the ridge, and two of the cottages still retain fireplaces with stone shelves.
