Description
Kirk Head is a group of three cottages built in the early 19th century. They are constructed from watershot masonry and feature a stone slate roof. The cottages are two storeys high and have a double pile layout. The corners are accentuated with quoins. The front of the building has two cells; the first cell includes a doorway with a sill tie and a flat-faced mullioned window with two large lights, along with a five-light window above. The second cell also has a doorway with a sill tie and a five-light flat-faced mullioned window above, both featuring a wider central light that was likely originally sashed. On the left-hand return wall, there is another doorway with a sill tie and a two-light flat-faced mullioned window above. At the rear, there is a later outshut made of pitch-faced stone. The cottages have two dressed stacks at the ridge.
