Description
This is an early 18th-century house, with an early 19th-century cottage addition to the south. It has now been divided into six dwellings. The house is constructed of hammer-dressed stone in a watershot pattern, with a stone slate roof. It is a double-pile building under a single span roof, with six cells visible on the west face. The west face features quoins. The original doorway has monolithic jambs and a double-chamfered mullioned window of four lights above it. The second cell contains a semi-circular arched cart entry, blocked, with a single light above, set within a plain stone surround. The third cell has a doorway with tie-stones, and a double-chamfered mullioned window of four lights above, although two mullions are missing. The fourth cell also has a doorway with tie-stones and a double-chamfered mullioned window of four lights above it. The fifth and sixth cells, which represent the later cottage addition, have a lower roofline than the original range and feature flat-faced mullioned windows of three lights. There are five stacks to the ridges. The east face has a similar arrangement of double-chamfered mullioned windows, most of which have been reduced to two lights. A blocked cart entry has been replaced with a doorway and tie-stones on the east face.
