Description
The Rose and Crown Inn is a public house dating from around 1725, although it has undergone significant alterations. It is constructed of hammer-dressed stone, with some areas rendered, and features a stone slate roof. The building has two storeys and is situated on a sloping site.
The two left-hand bays have been completely modified, now featuring segmental bay windows on the ground floor, with a doorway positioned between them in its original location. The right-hand bays still show chamfered surrounds around the windows, with indications of lost mullions. The roof has four stacks along the ridge. There are some quoins visible between the third and fourth bays, as well as at the rear of the building.
Inside, at the left-hand end, there is a fireplace with a segmental arch, and the inscription 'IN 1725' can be found on the lintel.
