Description
North Dean Cottage is a house built in 1819. It is constructed from hammer-dressed stone and features a stone slate roof. The building is a single storey with a symmetrical facade that has three bays. The central bay projects forward and includes a doorway topped with a pedimented coped gable, which has a plaque reading 'Erected by the Trustees of the North Dean Wood A.D. 1819'. The other two bays each contain a large sash window with four panes, projecting sills, and square healed gutter brackets at the eaves. There is a large ashlar chimney stack at the gable end of the first bay. The roof has coped gables with kneelers. This cottage is associated with a charitable trust for the poor of Stainland and Greetland.
