Description
Bank Top Farmhouse is an early 17th-century building with mid 18th-century and early 19th-century additions, constructed from hammer-dressed stone and featuring a stone slate roof. The original 17th-century section is now a cross-wing at the left end, which includes a double chamfered mullioned window with five lights and another with four lights above, both adorned with a hoodmould that has a square return. The gable end is rendered. Adjacent to this, set back from the wing, is the 18th-century section, which has two classical bays and two large rectangular windows with raised surrounds, containing 8-pane sash windows, with a 19th-century door inserted between them. A large thick band separates the windows above, and there are moulded brackets at the eaves along with projecting ashlar quoins at the end. A lower 19th-century cottage to the right is not included in this listing.
