Description
This barn, located 2 meters to the west of The Slack, dates from 1801. It is constructed of hammer-dressed stone and features a stone slate roof. The building has quoins and coped gables with kneelers. There is a segmental arched cart entry with tie-stone jambs, above which is a simple Venetian window with an impost and a false keystone. On either side of the cart entry, there are mistal doors also with tie-stone jambs. Gutter brackets are present, and the right-hand return wall forms a courtyard with the adjacent house. To the left of the barn, there is a doorway with tie-stone jambs leading to three square windows with plain stone surrounds. Four rectangular ventilators are located above on the first floor. The gable features a Venetian window that bears the date, and there is a columbarium at the apex. Inside, the barn has a three-bay queen-post roof.
