Description

This is a barn attached to Lower High Trees Cottage, dating from the 16th century or earlier. It is built of hammer-dressed stone and features a stone slate roof that is half hipped at one end. The barn has two bays of double-aisled timber framed construction. Inside, there is a common rafter roof supported by angle struts, which are carried on a post and tie beam with curved braces. The purlins are clasped by angle struts, and the posts stand on stylobats. The framing of the hip appears to be original.
