Description
This is a laithe house, built in 1856. It has been altered and extended around 1980. The building consists of a two-storey, one-bay house alongside a three-bay barn, with a two-storey, one-bay addition on the left side which is not considered to be of significance. The house is constructed from coursed squared stone with a stone slate roof.
The barn features quoins on the right side. A central, round-arched cart entry has a dated keystone. There are mistal doors at either end, each accompanied by a small window on the inside. Above the barn doors, a Venetian window is inscribed with the initials 'RS'. Slit vents are present, and a three-light, flat-faced mullion window was inserted around 1980 above the left-hand door.
The house has doors to the left of a two-light window on each floor; these openings are framed by plain stone surrounds. Paired gutter brackets are visible, and there is an end stack on the right.
At the rear, the barn has a matching cart entry, mistal doors, and slit vents. The house has windows added around 1980.
