Description
Copley Bridge is a toll-bridge, now free of tolls, located at the junction of Copley Lane and North Dean Road over the River Calder. It is dated and initialled 'R. K. D. Esq. 1831 J. H. Mason' and was built by Richard Kennett-Dawson. The bridge features rusticated stone and consists of two segmental arches with projecting keystones, one of which displays the date. There are angled breakwaters with tapering piers in the center. Additionally, around 1860, a thin coursed stone parapet and land arch were added to both sides, featuring a rusticated band and capping.
