Description
Dawson Weir House is an early 19th-century house built of dressed stone with a slate roof. It stands three storeys high and features a three-bay symmetrical facade that faces the road. The entrance includes a semi-circular arched doorway with a fanlight, pilasters, and an open pediment, along with a single light window above. On either side of the doorway, there are two-light sashed windows on each floor. The house has quoins and gutter brackets, and the southern end of the roof is hipped. There are three chimney stacks. The left-hand return wall displays watershot masonry, while the rear features five-light flat-faced mullioned stepped windows on each floor. The right-hand return wall has a tall stair window with a doorway beneath it leading to the ground floor.
