Description

The Manchester and Leeds Railway Viaduct, built in 1840 by George Stephenson, is a railway viaduct located adjacent to Mytholmroyd Station. It is constructed from rock-faced stone and features a hammer-dressed stone parapet along with dressed stone voussoirs, which are aligned with the courses. The structure includes three segmental arches supported by broad splayed piers, and it has an impost band. Additionally, there is a projecting band and capping on the parapet, making the viaduct a prominent feature in the town.
