Description

Strines Bridge is a footbridge that crosses the Colden Water, and it possibly dates back to the 17th century. The bridge is constructed from hammer-dressed stone and features a single segmental arch. It has large, roughly dressed parapets and steps leading up to either side. This bridge is a fine and graceful example of the packhorse type, but the presence of steps suggests it was likely used only as a footbridge, connecting Strines Farmhouse with Colden.
