Description
The Lister Memorial, located in Lister Park, is a statue of Samuel Cunliffe Lister, Lord Masham, created in 1875. Lister was an industrialist and inventor known for his contributions to wool combing machinery and the processing of silk waste. He commissioned the architects Andrews and Pepper to extensively rebuild the nearby Manningham Mills. The statue is made of marble and stands on a granite base, which features bronze reliefs illustrating Arkwright's weaving loom and wool combing machinery. Lister Park was originally part of the grounds of the Lister family's estate, Manningham Hall.
