Description

The Behrens Mausoleum is a tabernacle monument located in Undercliffe Cemetery, built around 1889 in a Renaissance style. It features a stepped banded plinth adorned with delicately carved scrolls that support the tabernacle. The front is flanked by partly fluted pairs of engaged Corinthian columns, with the inner columns topped by consoles that break through a swagged frieze to form a segmental pediment. At the top, an achievement crest is surmounted by an anthemion acroterion.
