Description
Thornton Hall is a large, square hall built in the late 17th century, located on Thornton Road in Thornton, Bradford. The building features a flat, symmetrical, three-bay south front that lacks gables and is constructed from coursed gritstone with flush quoins. It stands three stories high, divided by string courses, and has a parapet with gutter spouts. The roof is made of stone slate and includes corniced chimneys. The ground and first floors have six-light chamfered mullion and transom windows, while the second floor has five-light windows without transoms. There is a chamfered jamb and a heavy linteled doorway in the east wall. The interior has been altered over time. A sundial dated 1774 is also present on the property.
