Description
The entrance gate-piers and wall with a balcony, located approximately 10 meters east of Harden Hall, date from the late 17th century, likely around the time of the 1691 additions to Harden Hall. The structure is built from ashlar stone. The tall gate-piers feature composite jambs, an entablature, a cornice, and ball finials. The inner face of the gate-piers has a rebate for gates, while the outer jambs are moulded with cyma, step, and roll profiles, and include chamfered stops. To the left of the gates, there is a balcony supported at the front corner by a column, which has a cyma-moulded cornice and entablature, topped by a short parapet. Access to the balcony is via a shallow flight of seven stone steps, flanked by roll-moulded coped ramped walls on either side.
