Description

The Roman Catholic Church of St Anne was built in 1840 by Augustus Welby Northmore Pugin and was altered and enlarged in 1907. The church is constructed of ashlar and features pointed lancet windows, although the east and west ends have been modified. Inside, the north side includes a round-arched arcade and pointed arches leading to the crossing. The church has an open timber roof and is adorned with marble altar rails, a pulpit, an altar, and an elaborate Gothic reredos that includes a mosaic picture.
