Description

Ivy House Farmhouse is a late 17th-century farmhouse, substantially rebuilt in the late 18th century. It is constructed of coursed dressed stone with a stone slate roof. The building is two storeys high and has a symmetrical facade of three bays. Quoins are present. A central, gabled porch dating from the 18th century features shaped kneelers and coping, with a round-headed niche positioned above it. In the 20th century, shallow bow windows were inserted, replacing some of the original windows. These bow windows contain glazing bars and are set within 2- and 3-light flat-faced mullion windows. Coping is visible on the right-hand side of the building. Corniced end stacks are a feature. At the rear, a 2-light chamfered mullion window is located on the ground floor, and a small round-headed window is situated on the first floor.
