Description
No 117 on Little Horton Lane is a villa built around 1840-1850, designed in a style similar to the nearby No 115. The building features dressed sandstone that resembles brick, with ashlar dressings. It has a three-bay elevation, with the center bay slightly recessed. Architectural details include plinths, a plat band, a shallow frieze, and long modillion brackets supporting the flat stone eaves of the hipped slate roof. There are corniced chimneys on either side.
On the first floor, the central window is surrounded by an eared architrave. The shallow window reveals extend below the sills to meet the plat band and plinth. The entrance features an engaged Doric columned doorway, with steps leading up to a four-panel door. The reveal is splayed and includes an impost moulding, with a console key above the arch of the fanlight.
