Description
This is a terrace of six improved workers' houses located on the north side of Jane Street in Saltaire. Completed by 1868, the houses were designed by Lockwood and Mawson for Titus Salt, as part of the wider Saltaire model village. They are constructed of banner-dressed stone with a Welsh slate roof. The terrace is two storeys high, with each house originally having two bays. The end houses project slightly and have gabled fronts. Each house has an entrance with a fanlight set within stepped reveals, and the ground-floor windows are round-arched and archivolted. First-floor windows are square-headed and sit on a sill band. Original sash windows remain in houses number 2, 7 and 9. Stone brackets support the gutter line.
