Description
No. 67 Frizinghall Road is a villa dating from around 1850, which is notable for its seaside architectural style, a rarity in Bradford. The building is two stories tall, featuring painted ashlar "bricks" above rock-faced ones, with quoins at the ground floor. It has a low-pitched hipped roof covered with diamond-pattern slates and very deep flat eaves.
The front of the villa has three windows facing the road, with a central porch that is formed by octagonal crenellated turrets topped with a three crenel parapet; the central crenel features a carved stone head. The central window on the first floor has an architrave surround with a pediment supported by consoles, and there are consoles beneath the sills of the windows.
The ground floor windows are tripartite, with flanking pilasters and carved console brackets above the dividers, supporting entablatures. The original large-paned wood casements are still in place. The panelled door is set within a cambered oriel, featuring a shallow moulded surround with carved spandrels. There is a dwarf wall that fronts the pavement.
