Description

Rievaulx Cottage, now six dwellings, is a mid-19th century mill that was converted around 1985. The building is constructed of coursed stone with a stone slate roof. It has two storeys and seven bays, with a three-bay gabled cross-wing on the left side. The windows are 20th-century casement windows with stone cills (mostly flush) and lintels. A round-arched doorway, with quoins, imposts, and voussoirs, leads to No. 5. The central bays of the cross-wing each have a wide loading door on both floors. Plain gutter brackets are visible, and a continuous skylight runs along part of the roof. This building possesses group value from the contribution it makes to the wider Bingley Beckfoot area.
